Fencing relies on quick decision-making, physical strength and balance, sportsmanship, and self-defense basics. Instructors and students from the Red Stick School of Fencing will show footwork and duels, followed by a Q&A.
Ryan O’Connor, owner and head coach of Red Stick School of Fencing, has been fencing for more than 30 years. Since 2012, the school has trained students ages 8 through 70+ in Olympic and historical fencing classes. Coach O’Connor is also the President of the Baton Rouge Fencing Club and the current Louisiana Division Saber Champion.
