You can design your own dance party when you try out drag and drop coding. Registration required. Spots are limited. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 10.
Let’s dance by designing your background, participants, music, and dance moves using Scratch drag and drop coding. In this introductory class for utilizing Scratch, students will work on iPads to create their own dance party animation. With this type of visual coding using color-coded command blocks, kids can set up programs that can be simple or complex and completely customizable.
Scratch is the world’s largest coding community for children, and a coding language with a simple visual interface that allows kids to create digital stories, games, and animations. It was created and is maintained by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab.
Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
