Learn to recognize when you are stressed and how to react with positive coping skills.
In Louisiana, we’ve faced a lot of tough times, from hurricanes to the pandemic, and these challenges can leave us feeling stressed or worn down. The Louisiana Spirit Crisis Counseling team teaches ways to help you cope with situations that bring on feelings like anxiety, fear, or stress. In a relaxed, supportive setting, trained counselors will walk you through understanding disaster-related situations and your reactions. You’ll learn how to mitigate stress and review disaster recovery options. By the end of the session, you will have some knowledge about managing your emotions, building resilience, and using positive coping skills to feel better and stay strong.
The Louisiana Spirit Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) is recognized for delivering crisis counseling and stress management services that have supported Louisiana citizens since Hurricane Katrina (2005). Through short-term interventions, crisis counselors provide crisis counseling, public education about mental health challenges and positive coping strategies, and stress management services.
