Two loveable sisters dance through Candyland to find tasty treats for Queen Frostine.
This deliciously colorful ballet opens with two lovable sisters, Lilly and Lolly, who have been sent on a quest by Queen Frostine to collect tasty treats throughout her kingdom. Along the way, they meet the Cupcake Carhops, the Little Gingers, Lollipop Oompahs, the Gumdrop Gals, and the Mint-ettes. Will they stay on the right path and dance their way to the finish line, or will Lady Licorice sabotage their endeavor and lead them into the Molasses Swamp? The Great Candyland Adventure is an original production created by Rebecca Acosta and Jonna Cox, using music by Dmitri Shostakovich.
Youth Ballet is one of Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre’s outreach programs and is made up of a select group of dancers aged 10-14.

Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
