Help your child develop coping skills, learn to voice their concerns, and how to seek help from a trusted adult. For students in grades 4–6. Registration required.
The Be Safe. Be Smart program is designed to give students the skills to stay safe and healthy. It teaches social and emotional development skills that help young people interact positively with others and communicate emotions effectively. The goal is for students to avoid a wide range of violent behavior— including bullying, teasing, spreading rumors amongst younger children, and threats and assaults in later years—by showing empathy, good character, and self-control as they develop friendship skills. It encourages children to be self-confident and make good, healthy decisions.
To register, call (225) 647-3955 for Gonzales or (225) 673-8699 for Dutchtown.
Be Safe. Be Smart. Get Real About Violence is provided through the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Louisiana from a grant through Louisiana Children’s Trust Fund.
