It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s… an eclipse!
Learn all about eclipses, including what they are, the various types, the mythology surrounding them, and why the upcoming eclipse has the whole world buzzing with excitement. Amateur astronomer Don Weinell, with Baton Rouge Astronomical Society (BRAS) will also discuss some famous eclipses from the past.
Don Weinell is a retired US Air Force reservist and environmental scientist who enjoys amateur astronomy, birding, and history. He has authored two books: Bicycling the Oregon Trail and A Field Guide to Custer’s Camps: On the March to the Little Bighorn.
A limited number of solar glasses will be available for distribution at the end of this event. Limit one per person while supplies last.
