Explore Louisiana’s Wild Places

Get hands-on with some of Louisiana’s native species.

Led by an expert from the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries, children will have the chance to handle furs, skulls, and other wildlife products while learning to appreciate all the wonderful wildlife of the state. There will be live alligators to touch and a visit from a certain Louisiana swamp princess!

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) and the Louisiana Fur Advisory Council strive to promote public understanding of Louisiana's natural resources, including the role of wildlife populations in Louisiana's ecosystems. LDWF is responsible for managing and protecting Louisiana's abundant natural resources, including renewable wildlife resources and their supporting habitats.
