Learn how growing fresh produce is possible – without soil.
Aquaponics is a different way of growing food. It’s an environment of fish and plants. Fish and plants live in a tank. The plants eat the waste from the fish to grow, which helps clean the water. The clean water then helps the fish, and the cycle keeps going. This will be a hands-on STEM learning experience including water testing, examining germination, data and accountability, and scientific careers.
Dr. Lauraleigh Eddleman, a teacher at Westdale Middle School, developed the Aquaponics program at her school through grants. She and her students will showcase what they are learning in their Aquaponics Lab and how the program is inspiring them to advance in STEM fields.
