Kickstart your creativity in the library’s makerspaces when you learn to use all the new tools. Registration required.
Ascension Parish Library’s makerspaces are a place for inventors, artists, and hobbyists to bring their ideas to life. Located at the library in Donaldsonville, we encourage community members to check out this new hands-on workspace and collaborate, create, explore, and build.
To use equipment in the makerspace, you must be an Ascension Parish Library cardholder* and take a training class to learn how to safely operate the machines and the procedures for checking in, out, and cleaning up. After taking the class, you will schedule a time to pass a task-based activity to earn a completion badge, which allows you to use the equipment on your own.
The Cricut Maker 3 is capable of cutting, scoring, and drawing or writing on various materials. It can be used with the Cricut Heat Press to create customized items.

*Cardholders who are ages 12 to 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when using the makerspace. Those who are 15 and older may use the spaces on their own.
Our Donaldsonville location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director. It is located in historic downtown Donaldsonville.
