On the night of December 16, 1773, members of the Sons of Liberty boarded East India Company merchantmen docked in Boston Harbor. Without causing any other harm, they threw 342 chests of tea into the freezing waters - a bold act of protest valued today at roughly $1.7 million.
As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, we invite you to join the General Philemon Thomas Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution to commemorate this pivotal moment of American history by sampling the five varieties of tea that were cast into the harbor that night.

Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
