Learn about the African tradition of weaving kente cloth and make a kente-style paper hanging. Registration required. Space is limited.
The centuries-old practice of kente cloth weaving in Ghana was traditionally done to make clothing for African royals to wear during important ceremonies. After a brief presentation to learn more about how these originally hand-woven patterns have been transformed into widely available fabric patterns, each child can weave their own wall or door hanging using patterned cardstock.
