Step into the spotlight in this interactive workshop. Using creativity and critical thinking, students will use their voices to collectively tell a story that they create and answer the question, "If the world would listen, what would I have to say?"
Jimez Alexander is a teacher, actor, and all-around entertainer. He was a puppeteer and global entertainer for Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. He has also done work for professional theatre, film, and community outreach companies across the country. He performed full-time as a teaching artist for Kaiser Permanente’s Educational Theatre Program, where he created and facilitated original programs and workshops circulated throughout the Metro Atlanta region, including Male Empowerment for youth, Mindfulness for adults, and Social and Emotional Learning for Pre-K. Jimez specializes in performing and producing live events that create meaningful experiences for all ages and fulfills this mission through teaching artistry, public speaking, acting, empowerment, and entrepreneurship.
Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
