Extra! Extra! Recycle and repurpose it!
Help us create a prints and paws newspaper menagerie this summer. Choose your favorite animal as your inspiration and bring it to life using newspaper as your medium. We’ll have some newspapers available, or use any discarded newspapers you can find to create your animal art. This is your chance to showcase your talent and creativity and promote environmental sustainability using recycled materials.
You can turn in your artwork to your local library from Saturday, June 1, through Wednesday, July 31. Each submitted piece will be displayed in a special exhibition so the community can see all the creativity in our parish. Or take pictures of your eco-animal and tag us @myAPLibrary on Facebook and Instagram. We’ll print the online entries to be displayed. You will have to message us the name, age, and contact number for the entry to be part of the contest. Prizes will be awarded in early August by age group (Read to Me, Kids, Teen, Adult) by random draw. Enter as many times as you like - each artistic entry counts as a chance to win!
It’s news to us, but it can be art (and awards) in your hands.
