Be part of an enlightening discussion with Dr. Lori Latrice Martin, associate dean in LSU’s college of humanities and social sciences and professor in the department of African and African American studies, as she explores the cycle of optimism and disappointment experienced by Black Americans throughout U.S. history. Drawing inspiration from Derrick Bell’s concept of racial realism, Dr. Martin will provide insights from her book Racial Realism and the History of Black People in America. Learn how we can channel energy into actions that foster peace and reduce disappointment for Black communities.
