Get captivated by a visual display of artistic wonder.
Don’t miss the talent on display at the library in Gonzales, created by the Contemporary Fiber Artists of Louisiana (CFAL). The collection of fiber art made with fabric, wool, thread, and other fiber materials is a series of exhibits designed to travel to libraries throughout Louisiana. Art of Fiber describes the collection’s theme on display throughout September.
CFAL members practice a wide variety of disciplines, including art quilts, embroidery, weaving, digital fiber arts, crochet and knitting, rug hooking, doll making and structural fiber arts with 3D construction, jewelry with fiber elements, beading, and general surface design and embellishment.
CFAL members meet quarterly to share examples of their work and discuss techniques and materials. Fiber enthusiasts of all levels, from beginners to professionals, are welcome to join. For more information, visit the website at www.cfalart.com or email cfalart@yahoo.com.
