Join us to celebrate Carnival season with a fun and colorful craft! We’ll start by reading ¡VAMOS! Let’s Go! by Raúl the Third, a festive picture book full of movement, community, and celebration. After the story, children will create their own bright masks. Using paper, feathers, and vibrant decorations, kids will design unique masks that capture the joyful spirit of both Louisiana Mardi Gras and Latin American Carnivals...
¡Acompáñanos a celebrar la temporada de Carnaval con una actividad divertida y llena de color! Comenzaremos leyendo ¡VAMOS! Let’s Go! de Raúl the Third, un cuento festivo lleno de movimiento, comunidad y celebración. Después de la lectura, los niños crearán sus propias máscaras. Usando papel, plumas y decoraciones vibrantes, diseñarán máscaras únicas que reflejan el espíritu alegre tanto del Mardi Gras en Louisiana como de los Carnavales latinoamericanos.

Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
