This will be the last Sidewalk Astronomy before summer break. Try to spot Venus and Jupiter or observe the moon’s craters in detail. Amateur astronomer Don Weinell from the Baton Rouge Astronomical Society (BRAS) will guide your stargazing through a high-powered telescope. Library staff and fellow BRAS members will be on hand with other telescopes to help guide your view and answer any questions you may have. Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
