Nuestro nuevo club de lectura en español, que se inaugurará el jueves 30 de abril a las 6:30pm en Gonzales con el libro Como agua para chocolate por Laura Esquivel. Este programa está diseñado para reunir a lectores que comparten una pasión por la literatura, la cultura y la conversación. Este club servirá como un espacio acogedor para que los hispanohablantes exploren obras de autores clásicos y contemporáneos, al tiempo que fomenta las conexiones comunitarias. Las reuniones regulares se llevarán a cabo el último jueves de cada mes a las 6:30pm. Our new Spanish-language book club will launch on Thursday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. in Gonzales with the book Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. This program is designed to bring together readers who share a passion for literature, culture, and conversation. The club will serve as a welcoming space for Spanish speakers to explore works by classic and contemporary authors while fostering community connections. Regular meetings will take place on the last Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. If you are a Spanish speaker and enjoy discussing books, we invite you to join by calling Paloma at 225-673-8699.
Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
