Take flight through art and imagination with Faith Ringgold and create artwork inspired by the celebrated artist and author. This workshop begins with a short introduction about Faith Ringgold’s life, art, and one of her famous story quilts, Tar Beach—a powerful piece that blends storytelling, history, and personal dreams.
Afterward, design your own mixed media art project inspired by Tar Beach. Combine drawing, collage, and fabric to express your own autobiographical concept. This hands-on workshop encourages creativity, self-expression, and cultural appreciation, while introducing young artists to an influential figure in American art.
All materials will be provided. Come learn, imagine, and create your own story!
