Mama SaBa is known for her captivating storytelling that will engage and enchant the audience with interactive wordplay, song and dance. In her performance of Folk Tales From Around the World, hear how people live in far away lands, their traditions and their stories.
Phyllis D. Jason is a lifelong Louisiana resident fondly known as “Mama SaBa” who has entertained children for more than 30 years. She earned the name “Mama SaBa,” meaning “mother of seven,” in Swahili, after the birth of her seventh child. Through her tales, she takes kids on a character-filled journey and invites them to get involved through song and dance.
Our Galvez location was built in 1992 under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director. It was expanded & renovated in 2018.
