When disaster strikes, survivors often need legal help with problems such as landlord-tenant problems, unemployment benefits, contractor fraud, power of attorney, insurance disputes, FEMA disputes, successions, bankruptcies, and more. Ascension Parish Library and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services are partnering to provide free legal help for those affected by Hurricane Francine. Legal assistance will be available for families and individuals who meet income eligibility using federal income guidelines.
Southeast Louisiana Legal Services is a non-profit law firm that serves 22 parishes and offers representation, advocacy, and legal education to those who meet income eligibility in Southeast Louisiana. Free legal help will not be available for criminal cases.
