Learn classical Indian Odissi dance, which relates movement to traditional Hindu stories, mythologies, and poems.
This interactive program features a dance performance and some history about Indian classical dance, mythology, storytelling, and gestures through movement. Oindrila Bhar, an Odissi dancer, will present Mindfulness and Diversity Through Indian Classical Dance. Odissi is a traditional dance that incorporates a story or message using symbolic costumes, body movements, and gestures.
At the end of the program, there will be a survey to see what topic attendees would like to explore in Oindrila’s second virtual visit in July. Oindrila will also show some simple stress management techniques which she uses in her everyday life.
Oindrila was born and raised in Kolkata, state of West Bengal, India, and is a marketer by profession. Apart from marketing and dance, she studies food, spirituality, and a sustainable lifestyle.
