Join us for a festive tamalada/tamaliza! Some Latin American and Caribbean families gather for the holidays and other special occasions to make tamales using masa and corn husks and adding different fillings to them.
Children will enjoy games, songs, and stories, along with a sensory pretend play activity to make tamales, while learning about this rich tradition.
Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
