In honor of Black History Month, participate in our self-directed stained glass quilt square project celebrating Black authors.
Visit any Ascension Parish Library location in February to contribute to our collaborative paper quilt. We will have eight preprinted cardstock quilt squares for you to choose from. Four highlight Black authors - Kwame Alexander, Tracey Baptiste, Jason Reynolds, and Jacqueline Woodson. The other squares are blank if you’d like to choose another author to highlight. You can also draw a self-portrait or create a picture of someone else. Once your square is complete, we’ll put them together to display – or you can take it home.
