Join us for weekly screenings of laughter with the Screwball Comedy Film Series.
Every Tuesday in July, the library offers a night of classic screwball comedies featuring timeless humor and unforgettable characters. Donald Beale, director of Online Distance Learning with LSU Online and Continuing Education, will lead a discussion after each screening on the film’s themes and style.
Doors will open at 5:45pm, and refreshments will be served. This series is for adults and not intended for family viewing.
About Bringing Up Baby (1938, 1hr 42m):
Directed by Howard Hawks and starring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. While trying to secure a $1 million donation for his museum from a society matron, a paleontologist becomes pursued by the woman's high-spirited young niece the day before his wedding. The ever-growing chaos includes a missing dinosaur bone and a pet leopard named Baby. This film is rated TV-G.
