Amateur astronomer Don Weinell, with Baton Rouge Astronomical Society (BRAS), will have a high-powered telescope set up to help you search the night sky.
Don is a retired US Air Force Reservist and Environmental Scientist who enjoys amateur astronomy, birding, and history. He has authored two books: Bicycling the Oregon Trail and A Field Guide to Custer’s Camps – On the March to the Little Bighorn.

Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
