Spend the day roaming with reptiles!
Look at, learn about, and interact with snakes, turtles, lizards, and frogs at our second annual Reptile Rave! We’re celebrating the world of reptiles with a day of events:
10:00am-11:00am Nature on the Geaux: Wildlife biologist, educator, and rehabber Tanee Januz returns with tortoises, turtles, a blue-tongued skink, and snakes.
11:30am-1:30pm LA Snake ID: Kevin Hood and his family will present about venomous and non-venomous snakes of Louisiana as well as having time to touch and be photographed with his family’s pet snakes.
2:00pm-3:00pm Fluker Farms: This local family-owned farm raises insects as fish bait and prey for birds and reptiles. They will discuss insect and reptile breeding, and among their animals, they may bring a lizard, a bearded dragon, a Pacman frog, a boa, and tortoises.
3:30pm-5:00pm Safari Station: All sorts of reptile animal ambassadors will be on display and may include 10-foot-long Burmese python, ball python, corn snake, bearded dragon, blue tongue skink, leopard gecko, red foot tortoise, or an African spurred tortoise.
We will have an archeology room for digging fossils and plastic reptiles out of sand. Grab a bite from Jambalaya Capital Catering between 11:00am-1:00pm. It will be a roaring good time!
